88mm/L71. Pain/agony/death.

The Germans are STILL making some of the best tanks in the world. They are rightly renowned for their mechanical skills.

so beatiful...

Forgot to ad: But it won't save the tank.

They might keep the shell from fragmenting, reducing the risk of Chunky Salsa.

No, I'm not "nuts" and I'd appreciate if you keep the insults to yourself.
That aside, I went back and rechecked my books, and it turns out that you're right. They were planning on using parts from the Königstiger in order to simplify production.
My misunderstanding must have come from the similarity between the Löwe and Porche's proposal for the Königstiger.

wait a minute, are you nuts or what?. the so called panzer lowe, did not progressed more than a paper project, there are no a single note on any of my books that support your claims, where did you get that from?
-
Well, they both started development within three months of each other, so odds are that both featured components from the other.
sand bags would not help any tank against the 88 gun!!!!

This video makes the same popular mistake as most Tiger docus, stating that Porsche had made the "Porsche-Turret". ALL Tiger turrets were made by Krupp! So Krupp had produced 50 turrets for the Porsche-CHASSIS which was never built, before Henschel won the contract! These Porsche turrets were later modified to fit the winning Henschel chassis!
