Nice, "jazzy" animation style. Very modern and very retro at the same time.

@artistmac Zenith didn't make color sets in '61, and they certainly weren't solid-state....Zenith entered the color market in '62.....

This commercial makes me want to buy a Chevy more than the commercials you see on TV today 50 years later. People just don't try anymore.

Very much influenced by the movie title sequences Saul Bass had been doing. If you'd been dozing off in your BarcaLounger in 1961 watching your Zenith solid-state color console, this definitely would have woken you up;)

I see where Toyota is getting soooooo desperate to sell cars that they've stolen the "Jet Smooth Ride" from the '61 Chevy's to use for their new Avalon!!!! I'd take a '61 Chevy over a new Avalon any day of the week and twice on Sunday!!!!

Ah, former Disney animation artist Eyvind Earle... I wonder if he also did the opening for "101 Dalmatians"?

Wonder why kids started doing acid in the 60's...
You just don't get abstract art. You have to get the art of the early 60s, where hardedge painting was cool. They combined it with a rather strange animation. I'd say its much cooler then current ones
