  • @Buddhabudo ya, that is the Elder Futhark. The Anglo Saxon "Futhorc" has 33.

  • Well, he got his point across, ///////////////////////////////////////////his English weren't all that inspiring. Sounds like he walked outta a pub he'd been in for ten or so hours. He's A OK in my books. Hit the non-compliant asshole over the head with the book of knowledge fella. Give him a bag of jelly beans and send him out to meet the world.

  • @resurgam44 hello, I am sorry to contradict you, but I have read numerous references to the runes as magic in the sagas (take the withc in grettir's saga or egil himself in egil's saga) not to mention the passages in the prose edda that explain the mystical origin of runes in association with Woden.

As for archaeological evidence, though many inscriptions seem of no relevance, there are others on weapons and stones that invoke power to a person or object.

  • Woden, Zie, Donner, Sunne und Sinthgunt leben hoch !!!

    ;-))

  • @BEGOODTOYOURDOG1 Your welcome.

  • @valetudo777. Thank you.

  • @valetudo777. That sounds reasonable. Thank you.

  • @BEGOODTOYOURDOG1 If you'd like to explore this idea more thoroughly there is an article by Carl Jung, you should be able to find online in a book called temple of wotan, which explains the re-emurgence of the Odin/Woden/Wotan archetype within the collective consciousness of the northen european people.

  • @BEGOODTOYOURDOG1 My understanding of Wodenism is that the gods are symbols of archetypal forces within the cosmic macrocosm and within the microcsom of man. Iit is invocation of these forces that the wodenist will utilise to bind him in unity with his folk and ensure his success against the "New World Order".

  • @Buddhabudo There are 32 Anglo Saxon runes in our futhorc to express different sounds which are particular to the Old Englisc tongue. These can't be expressed using Futhark
