Having good foresight is something a nation's leaders must have for the country to prosper...
Obviously it's good to maintain strong ties with US, but it's also pretty obvious to begin new ties with future powers.
NOTHING stays the same, having the ability to adapt is what keeps a individual/company/nation on top.
