It makes perfect sense. You just didn't get it. What happens is that it pushes the icon one space. That's what happens when you move icons on Symbian, Windows desktop, or anything.

dont forget apple and microsoft both copied the xerox OS back in the early days. watch the movie "pirates of silicon valley" android has alot of apple in it. all the "cutsey" stuff resembles the gui alot.
