Theres no money to be made in villages.
Even if they grow their own food , they cant sell it since corporate agriculture sells at low prices they cant compete with.
Most seek to provide better lives for their children untill they face the reality of the city and going back is no option for most where there are no schools.
For a country thats rich in natural resources , its fucked up how badly wealth distribution is managed.
Indias only in a temporary boom.

One word. BIRTH CONTROL.

there is no food shortage, no population problem. there is only a major attitude problem fueled by arrogance, narcissism, greed and the self righteousness of the devil worshiping thieves in "gov't" positions

@eyeswideopennimrod you dont know what ur talking about, the 'fields' as u call them are owned by landlords or the government, and u know what that means...its not like the 19th century anymore, u cant just migrate anywhere, these days if ur poor there is very little chance ul go out of this life in a good way.
-
Why is there no alternative than to move to the city? Perhaps when there are world food shortages (rice in particular) the poor will migrate back to the fields to seek their fortune.
"Lost Village" shows me that following money does not lead to finding happiness

@ayamkampung I am not doubting you, I am just surprised that your impression of India was so completely negative. But if that was your experience then so be it. OK, I will google that about the Commonwealth Games, it sounds interesting. BTW did you get any good photos from India, and do you have a website where you share your photos?
Humans were not meant to live in cities this way.

Why don't they just move back to the fields, at least they can grow food and live a healthier life than this?
