Curty Flood didn't ruin the game. Free agency and George Steinbrenner. Even, Gussie Busch said that if he had listen to Curt that his team would have saved a lot of money when free agency did come.

I remember the 68 season very well, being from Michigan. One thing I remember, and like about McLain, was on the same day he won his 31st,he gave Mantle one right down the middle, so he could be 3 rd on the all time home run list. (535). That was cool of him. The next batter up, Joe Pepitone wanted one grooved for him too, but McLain knocked him down.
