It's fashionable in America to be "Irish" a lot of the time... I noticed that growing up. They have no ****** clue what part of Ireland their ancestors originated, don't know anything about Ireland politics/customs/culture, and will never even bother to visit Ireland (like the last 3 generations of their family) - but will wear a shamrock all day long. Quite hilarious.
