I remember seeing Slamming Sammy Miller at Santa Pod drag raceway in the 80's. My dad took myself and my brother since the very early days and when most of the crowds were leaving thinking the Cannonball or Summer Nationals were over the final car to go was worth the 3 days wait. Awesome a legend and I was lucky enough to have a pit pass and meet the legend. God bless the fastest dragster of all time (at the time)
Sammy passed away from work accident injuries Tuesday 29th October 2002, In 1984 Sammy recorded a pass of 3.58, a record that still stands. god bless ya sammy!
