Wander and the Colossus Movie Trailer

In case you're unfamiliar with Shadow of the Colossus, it's a videogame for the PS2. This is my take on it. :)

I just want to say that this is a rather rough concept, or "pencil test," type of film. I've had this idea for awhile and I would have liked to fully flesh it out (My original intention was that it might fool viewers into thinking that it was going to be a really a film) but I simply don't have the time.

Aside from the music, I did everything for this film. So yes, I did do voices(which I apologize for having poor quality), the drawings, and the story.

Speaking of which, the story is based on the original but is not exactly the same. I'd like to say that I've expanded it. If you've played the game, you know how ambiguous and open to interpretation it is. I've taken the backstory which I imagined and put them into this film, hoping to give the original's story some added character development and drama.

This is a film which I hope promotes the idea that videogames can in fact be art. This film is a visualization of my experience while playing the game. It is my interpretation and my reaction to the original work. I hope you enjoy it! Thank you

*note*
I'm sure lots of people will notice that the protagonist's name is Wander. Check Wikipedia and you'll discover that "Wanda" was not the female's name but male lead's.

I liked the art, and it was an impressive piece of work. I didn't like how strong Wander was portrayed in your trailer. I think one of the (many) things that made SotC great was how small and tiny and insignificant you were compared to the colossi. You weren't devil-haired and super-powered, or all zappy lightning moves. No, you were a fairly young boy, perhaps on the slight side, and you were nothing. It needs to be a struggle, and a fairly hopeless one; your character seems too imba.

@neoman289151 The saving grace of all this? That Fumito Ueda, the director of the game, is going to be directing the movie also.

Otherwise, I completely agree. Production companies always fuck things like this up.

Wander is actually pretty shit at using the sword in game. He's much better at using the bow, he can even shoot accurately while riding. What he isn't is good at keeping his footing and running fast, which is probably related to his skill at riding a horse.

@seangrei: Wander never wanted to inflict harm on Emon and his men for Mono's death. Even as Dormin, Ueda has stated the reason he's hard to control is because he's half Wander (his leg is also physically wounded because of the arrow in Wander's leg).

So Wander's side did not care about vengeance, Dormin however did.
