  • Another thing to keep in mind is that sometimes patients with the same illness are placed in the same room. First rule: always check the name tag and MR#, and ask "what's your name" and don't ask "Mr. Jones?".

  • @toxicmegacolon Great point about changing the way you greet patients. That's what I've come to do now. And sometimes after the usual enter-the-room greeting, I say something like, "How do I pronounce your last name? I just don't want to chop it up."
