The judges later admitted that they made a mistake. I feel extremely sorry for the Ukrainian team, but that's not Uchimura's fault. Everyone would have been fine if the judgement had been handled correctly from the beginning.

...so i dont undestand why GBR and UKR are complaining... if u are weak at gymnastics dont blame Japan...

Dismount element was presented. It was a handstand. Execution was extremely poor. D-panel should have recorded it in the annotation. They are required to list down whatever is presented including the botched handstand. The fault was in execution, and a call of the E-panel. Thus, the compositional mess should not have cropped up.

@JD3K GBR are not complaining. If you watcht the BBC broadcast, you will hear the commentator (a head coach himself) acknowledge, even before the judges did, that Uchimura did in fact reach a handstand and that the appeal was likely to be granted. They were very graceful about it all.

That is a handstand according to the code of points. A handstand is allowed to be straddled on pommel horse to receive credit.

Hell no. Any retard can see that amongst that sloppy mess, he was never even above 45 degrees. a handstand is 90. The highest point was his arms being bent halfway. No where close to a complete handstand. The judges were under a mountain of political pressure. I will never respect the Japanese gymnastics program or any of their athletes ever again. They weren't happy and whined and argued like little girls to try to get their way. They ought to be ashamed.

Shouldn't be credited. It was a fall and incomplete handstand due to poor form. I don't know why the judges felt SOOOO pressured to raise his score.

In my opinion, he completed the dismount (at least according to the criteria set forth in the Code of Points).
