Last night saw Aidan Burley, MP for Cannock Chase, call for an end to the taxpayer funding of trade unions. In a heated debate that attracted the attendance of Secretary of State Eric Pickles, Burley put forward a comprehensive case for the ending of what he called the "Spanish practice" of union activists who are paid for by the taxpayer but work exclusively on union duties.

During the debate the TaxPayers' Alliance was praised and both our reports on the taxpayer funding of trade unions and the Trade Union Rich List were quoted extensively.

  • @myarwood73 You're the prick you commie twat.Labour, the mouthpiece of trade unions did absolutely fuck all for workers during the last 13yrs, the only shit they pulled off was giving Tax Credits while fucking British industry up for good. Soon thanks to commie trade unions the masses will be eating out of soup kitchen and commie pricks like you will blame capitalism.

If we didn't have commie Unions we'd have Unions that actually protected British jobs, but you wouldnt approve.

  • @myarwood73 Did you actually bother to read the rest of my comments (there aren't exactly many on this video) to get a sense of where I'm coming from?

It's not like a thinking person could possibly have thought I was being serious about his nerves.

Anyway... what do you want him to do? Pretend nothing needs to change?

Or are you suggesting we storm the building and take over?

    Wake up yourself.

  • @myarwood73

I couldn't agree with you more vis a vie MPs, but are you saying two wrongs make a right. I don't want to pay for any of these scumbags and that includes unions that do not represent me so keep your commie comments to your self.

  • @thirteenfingers no wonder he was nervous he was talking utter bollox, and a thief of tax payers money and has a cheek to talk about wasting tax payers money for union activity, after what mps have robbed over the decades. wake up will you

  • @arthur1411 what about all those mps who are on rediculous salaries with attached exspenses for which the majority have stole from the tax payer, with which most of them got away from prosicution. they should be more concerned about that theft of tax payers money.

think before you spout off your right wing tory views and talk utter bollocks

  • @scoocheeful i will tell you what unions have done for us. stopped children being abused and made to go to work up the chimneys from the age of 5. bring in equal pay laws, give women a voice in the work place, fight for holiday entitlement for workers, fight for the minimum wage, bring in health and safety laws which have saved thousands of lives, give workers rights and a voice and an opinion. people have died for the right of a trade union so fuck off prick

  • @anyfekinnamewilldo It's a good point.

I often see them stood outside holding the sky up. It's a wonder their arms don't get tired. ;o)

  • @thirteenfingers Well indeed..apparently the sky would fall in without them, or so the story goes...;-)

  • @anyfekinnamewilldo Why should the state be able to take by force the product of your labour full stop?

    ;o)

  • Ah the poor dote.

Have you ever seen anyone's hands shake so much?

Good speech, wonderful interruption by the speaker but how NERVOUS was he!?

  • @mkmccfc Why should the state be able to take by FORCE the product of my labour in order to fund the political activities of Unions?

  • Great, apart from the way he couldn't say trade unions

  • herehere

  • It's time to stop trades unions meddling in politics, they should be forced to represent their members interests only. No political donations, no connections to issues other than those directly representing the jobs & wages of their members & no funding from taxation.

13 yrs of union communist subversion and the working man has never had a bleaker future, that's what political left wing unions have done for us.

  • Essentially it sounds as though we're all paying Derek Simpson's FAT CAT salary - thanks for exposing this, well done Aidan & well done TPA.

  • this chap is very good. very hard to disagree with the content of the speech
