  • Mark Pendergrest's woefully, slapdash commentary is by far the weakest element of this documentary. He's shit isn't he?

  • From which is the track on 1:28....

  • @liverawkstar yeah he can be a bit off the mark sometimes... kinda got his facts wrong once or twice

  • I do not agree with Mark Pendergrest very often; and his saying that Tangerine Dream had a sound that seemed like the machines were playing themselves is ludicrous-- when one listens to a record like Tangram it is easily as complex as something by Yes or Genesis in its own way--

the whole Krautrock sound was very stream of conscious- and so TD becoming far more "planned" was definitely moving away from that--

I personally find Stratosfear, Cyclone and Force Majeure best EM records ever

  • So, how was T-Dream NOT experimental? I don't recall any other music from that period that sounded quite the same (even Klaus didn't have the same complexity of sequences and textures). You have to listen 3-4 times before you even know where the melodies are. But that's a small quibble. Great documentary.

  • Nice to see and hear "Tangerine Dream" once more.
