You are right, it does get chanted during communion sometimes, but incorrectly so. The content of the Psalm is not appropriate for communion. Just because something is currently being practiced liturgically, it's the right thing to do.

@elf316 In some places, primarily Greek parishes, I've heard the polyeleos sung during the communion of the people after the Koinonikon.
-
This is the anti-polyeleos during the Triodion, not the Koinonikon

ΠΟΛΥ ΩΡΑΙΟ! ΘΑΥΜΑΣΙΟ!

this is greek, not serbian! it is from the ancient greek text of Old Testament , from the Psalms.

This is one of the few psaltis who holds on to a bit of tradition.
He sounds a lot like a psaltis - teacher I knew, also from Samos, student of Jerusalem protopsaltis Bamboudakis of Samos, Matthaios Andreou (+1999).
I liked the kliton, except for the second part where the Ga equivalent should be lowered (see Anthologia by Phokaefs).

Any of us who have studied music history can close our eyes and hear the hundreds of years melt away. Timeless, ageless...whether you understand the liturgy or have an ear for western or eastern music...on can tell this is meant for honoring/worship. Truly a sacred gift in the voice, and in sharing history with those who listen. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS! My students will love it.
