With the help of the magic of digital editing, and because I was stuck in an airport for too long without anything to do, now you can hear what it would have sounded like if Jussi Björling and Franco Corelli sang Don José together simultaneously! Corelli basically was a spinto with a bigger voice surely then jussi but jussi was the great artist, however he never sang don jose and corelli did.

On the first A-flat Corelli drowns Jussi completly. Jussi´s voice is sheer beauty while Corelli´s is as virile as a male voice can be, 100% testosterone. In some arias I prefer Jussi but on stage I would have chosen Franco in every role that required dramatic talent and dramatic voice.
