Beiteddine - بيت الدين (Liban / Lebanon / لبنان)

Ce palais a été construit au début du XIXe siècle par l'émir Bachir II, grand émir ou prince du Liban. Sa tombe se trouve dans un jardin près du palais. De 1943 à 1982, il sera la résidence estivale des présidents de la république libanaise.
Il se divise en trois grandes parties. La première est constituée d'une vaste cour, bordée d'une aile destinée à l'origine aux hôtes du palais. La partie centrale, merveilleusement décorée de sculptures, de boiseries et de mosaïques polychromes, était réservée aux réceptions officielles et à l'administration. La troisième partie, ou Dar el-Harîm, comprenait les appartements privés de l'émir, les cuisines et le "hammam", l'un des plus beaux spécimens du genre. Le palais est situé au milieu de jardins et de vergers. Il abrite en outre plusieurs musées, dont celui des mosaiques byzantines.
A Beiteddine, il existe trois autres palais construits pour les fils de l'émir Bachir. Ils sont toujours visibles aujourd'hui, mais pas ouverts au public. Cette ville se situe à 4km de la capitale du Chouf: Baakline, fief de la famille Hamadé, ainsi que les cheikhs Akl Druzes;

يعتبر قصر بيت الدين من اهم اثار بلدة بيت الدين ، وهو صرح كبير يلفت الانتباه بجمال بنيانه ، ويعتبر هذا القصر من اروع واجمل نماذج الفن العربي في القرن التاسع عشر، فهو يشكل مزيجا رائعا ومتناسقاً من بناء الحجر اللبناني في الخارج ومن الفن الزخرفي الدمشقي في الداخل .
شارك في بناء القصر أمهر البنائين اللبنانيين وهم رستم ويوسف مجاعص من بلده الشوير ، وانضم اليهم عدد من المهندسين الاوروبين والعمال المهرة القادمين من دمشق وذلك لصنع الفسيفساء وصقل الرخام المستورد من فلورنسا في إيطاليا، واستغرق بناء هذا القصر بقاعاته الواسعه وابراجه المربعه عشرات السنوات بما في ذلك زخرفته وما اضيف اليه من تحسينات في البناء ، وقد زينت القاعات بنقوش هندسية جميلة وزخارف ملونه كتب عليها حكم وامثال عربيه قديمه . وقد اشتهر القصر بحدائقه الجميلة وبساحة فسيحه تدعى "الميدان" كانت تقام فيها فيها حفلات الفروسية واستعراض الجيش.
والان قصر بيت الدين هو المقر الصيفي لرئاسه الجمهورية ، كما يقام به سنوياً مهرجان ثقافي هو مهرجان بيت الدين.

Beit ed-Dine (in Arabic بيت الدين, translates to "House of Religion") is a small Lebanese town in the Chouf District, approx. 50 km southeast of Beirut and near the town of Deir el-Qamar from which it is separated by a steep valley. The town is famous for its magnificent Beiteddine Palace which hosts the Beiteddine Festival every summer.
Local emir Bashir Shihab II who was later appointed to rule Mount Lebanon, started building the palace in 1788 at the site of the Druze hermitage (hence the town's name, translating as "House of Faith"). It took about 30 years to complete. The best craftsmen from Damascus and Aleppo as well as Italian architects were invited and given much freedom, so its style is a cross between traditional Arab and Italian baroque.
After 1840 when Bashir was sent into exile the palace was used by the Ottomans as a government building, during the French Mandate its role was preserved and it served as a local administrative office. In 1934 it was declared a national monument. In 1943 Bechara El Khoury, the first Lebanese president, declared it the official president's summer residence. During the Lebanese civil war it was heavily damaged. After 1984, when fighting in the area receded, Walid Jumblatt ordered its restoration. Parts of the palace are today open to the public while the rest is still the president's summer residence.
Bashir built three more palaces in the town for his sons, till today only Mir Amin Palace survived and is today a luxury hotel.
Beiteddine is home to a Lebanese Red Cross First Aid Center

cest vraie magnifique palais pour y avoir ete en novembre derniers pour la simple raison que je porte ce nom de famille voila pourquoi jai decide daller tout simplement au liban et en particulier a beittedine .........dommage que les objets les plus precieux ait ete pris par joumblat ils meublaient a merveille le chateau ma indique le guide!!!!!!!!!!!
