  • I just bought some silver dollers to use as target fish. I have a 8x2x2 tank , i was always sceptical about clown loaches i think my fish would kill them. I have a trimac, jaguar, cuban and salvini what do you think?

  • @Jbee02694

I have never had any fish be aggressive with my clowns including Salvini and jags, giveit a try, but obviously don't buy them too small.

  • Love your synspilum. How old is the male by the way?

  • @minaria08

sorry I have been offline a while, the male is around 2 years old.

  • I MUSH IS THAT TANK

  • @lola26granola Thnx for quick reply. Think Im getting some tomorrow. Good point, if its holding its own against the cichlids...i used to have Tiger Barbs. Til my midnight catfish or bichirs started killing them. Clown Barbs get bigger so maybe they will do better. Do they color up more when they get older? They really look nice @ my LFS. Thnx again for the response.

  • @f2warbound I think that it would/could work. I have not seen mine act territorial or nippy with fish outside their group unless they decided it was food, in which case they attack en masse. Your knife is bigger than they will be, even full grown, so I think there is a possibility that they will just ignore it especially if it is already holding its own against your cichlids. I don't think they are as bad as tiger barbs, but they will eat fish their size that act like food.

  • @lola26granola Hey you think the clown barbs will be a good dither fish in my tank? I have American Datnoid, Black Diamond Cichlid, parrot cichlid, polypterus bichirs, Redtail shark. Im kinda worried about my 5 inch ghost knife tho getting nipped at, u think it would be alright? Thnx

  • great settup how the hell does those barbs survive in there? your synps have great colour..

  • i have clown barbs as dither fish and I love them as much as my cichlids they eat out of my hand are extremely active and easily avoid my cichlids. They also survived moving back and forth because of my house being fumigated. The only damage one has on his fins is thanks to his fellow clown barbs. I will be getting a few more to spread their aggression out a bit.

  • beautiful tank!

  • Wow your video quality is amazing! Also love your clown loaches. I have a question for my 20g. It has 3 Dwarf Cichlids (2 Cockotoos and a Ram) but what dithers should I get for it?

  • super nice Synspillum
