I never played in the original Raptures, but I was a fan of the band. That band was formed along with Black Cats, Tropicana, Rebels, Tak Khalha, Ojoobeh-ha and oh yeah.. Golden Rings and many other rock bands. Radio Tehran did some live recording of all these bands including Raptures and I'm sure someone has the archive.

You are right, he is about 60,61 and he's been active recording and writing songs for the past I'd say 10-12 years. Last time I talked to him was 2 years ago and he promised he'd call me...I'm still waiting...lol. I'm planing to go back home for a visit and most definitely I'll see him and if I remember your question, I'll ask him.

@Jamboy327 Hi again. Thanks v. much for the info. I was contemplating a visit to Iran. Wanted to get a glimpse of him if not meet him. I am from india . I don't even understand the language . lol. But i love his compositions all the same.now that u r saying he is not very accessible ,I can't figure out what to do.

@sooham1 His wife handles his emails and she is not that quick replying...lol. I actually called him couple of times when I was in Tehran this past November, but he was not home apparently....so not sure if he is that accessible, but I got a chance to see his brother Kamran couple of times though...he is the one who played most of the solos in his earlier recordings.

@SaeedBaba Mark Knopfler came into the picture only in 1977 when he started playing with Dire Straits where Kourosh's early recordings were mostly done between 1973 to 1978.

@sooham1 Yes he lives in Tehran, but he spends most of his time at his retreat up North. He has a fan group in Facebook.
