The suspect was driving erratically, made a U-turns over medians and traveling at high rates of speed through residential areas in the Heights and the River Oaks area. Trying to get away from police, the suspect also drove through parking lots and narrowly missed some vehicles.
He eventually got onto Highway 59 headed towards Ft. Bend County. He exited near Bissonnet, where he struck a car carrying two women. That crash essentially ended the chase. As the van rolled to a stop after the wreck, police with guns drawn forcibly pulled the suspect out of the van.
One of the occupants in the struck car was transported to the hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time. Moments after the wreck, we spoke to the crash victim's uncle.
"Pretty scary. They left fifteen minutes ago, and then you get a call saying they're in an accident. I heard my niece screaming," said "Pretty frightening."
The chase lasted around 30 minutes. At this point, we don't know exactly what charges will be filed against the suspect

It was 101 degrees that day.
