2009 Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Launch

The Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 team today launched the car it will campaign in the 2009 FIA Formula 1 World Championship at its headquarters in Woking, England. Unveiled by world champion Lewis Hamilton and his team-mate Heikki Kovalainen, the new MP4-24 bears little resemblance to its world championship-winning predecessor due to the introduction of a raft of new rules that have reshaped Formula 1 ahead of the 2009 season.

I was supporting McLaren again this season, but now I'm behind Brawn GP and Jenson Button. I still like McLaren, but Hamilton made a big mistake. As world champion he should be setting a good example. He has appologised however, and it was clearly from the heart, so I think that he can be forgiven, but I still want Button to win this year. He deserves to.

it all comes out in the wash. i dont think they will loose too many veiwers cause most f1 fans and autosport fans in general are old enough and mature enough to understand these types of situations.

its natural to have teams that should be at the top like mclaren and ferrari placing lower than normal, just untill any bumps get sorted out.

keep in mind these 2 things:

1. some teams have major downforce advantages and this issue wont be resolved till the fia makes a final decision and the teams can adjust accordingly.

2. some teams are using kers and some teams arent altogether.

The MP4-24 has had a world of issues with the aerodynamic package (since the engine-gearbox bundle is the same as that with BGP001, and they appear to be flying). On the last two days of testing however, 18/19 March, they appear to have cracked the problems (possibly through the new rear diffuser and underfloor) and the new silver arrow appears to be... less broken. And rather competitive.
