@scampbell04 Because the telexperts are experienced in firing off 2-second soundbyte cliche responses to a range of questions. Chomsky takes his time to answer, avoids flagrant rhetoric and conveys extremely inconvenient truths that tend to make even mainstream liberals squirm uncomfortably.

You sheep got led to the TARP slaughter. You thought Obama was looking out for you. Wrong! He is a puppet. You got screwed and the rich got richer under Obama. Deal.
-
@scampbell04 The reason has been explained by the man himself. The Professor will NOT conform to their "sound bite" mentality. In his words and I am paraphrasing he simply states that they (the modern media) do not want real, tacit, lucid and understandable explanations to our nations and world's problems. They want the quick rant..and then on to commercial or Paris Hilton.

Capitalism is the historic evolution of private property relationship of alienation, exploitation and suffering of humanity in a modality of production for profit in a world market of ARTIFICIAL SCARCITY and manipulation to perpetuate the conditions of exploitation in the interest of the Owning/Ruling elite. Capitalism is the monetary web of deception and suppresssion of humanity for the abstract process of capital accumulation and concentration . A system of dehumanisation and devaluation

America:
Oppose socialism when it's for the benefit of the people (universal health-care, social benefits, so forth).
Support socialism when it's for the rich (giving tax payer money to the corporations and the banks)

The lecture 'Free Market Fantasies' is on Youtube. Listen to it! Chomsky gave it in 1996 and looking back now all of what he said about the banks and bail outs etc is totally prophetic
-
Because he can't give 30 second sound bytes in a 5 minute interview, 3 minutes of which will deal with the host saying, "Wait, so you're against capitalism? That's not very American"

I'm sorry but it wont work to have him on. He has commented on this, and the reason is tv programs often only give you so little time to each subject.
The only oppinions and suggestions that you can give time for are opinions you already knew. Repeating what you already read in the papers and so on.

"He would make an excellent guest on any news show" - that is exactly why he is not on any...
How come when you look at CNN and MSNBC and they have all these so called "experts" on...how come you never see Chomsky? He would make an excellent guest on any news show in my opnion.
