Joe: "We're going to have to do that one day. But wait till I make it bright red and put it in spikes!"
Nick: "Spikes? How do you do that?
Joe: "It's easy-Elmers glue! Washes out easy Freaks out the adults."
Nick: "I like your style, Joe. Maybe you can help me find a job here."
Joe: "What you want to do?"
Nick: "Anything for extra money, but I'd really like a job at a TV station or something."
Joe: "Ladies and gentlemen: Here is the six o'clock news. Nothing happened today, so tomorrow has been canceled. Film at eleven."
Nick: "Joe, you're crazy. No, get me straight now-I don't want to be one of those cheese-grinning reporters- I want to be the man who makes them look good,"
Joe: "Nice job, if you like cables and cameras. Then, when you get famous, you can make movies! Lights! Action! Quiet on the set! Jonas is making another movie! A nine-hundreds-billion-dollar blockbuster!"
Nick: "I like your vision, man. Hey, you got E-mail? I did get to bring my computer when we moved. That helps, because I can still talk to a couple of kids through the internet."
Joe: "Yeah, I love it, man! I love making up names and identities and telling strangers trash about me.!"
Nick: "You make stuff up?"
Joe: "You tell the truth?"
Nick: "Yeah, but I don't have to worry about what I look like or what the think of me, I can always erase what I type and do it over or make it right. In real life, there's only one chance to make a good impression."
Joe: "But, see I don't care if I make a good impression. Actually, I hope I don't! It's more fun that way."
Nick: "You got spice, man."
Joe: "And you got potential, Nick, my friend."
Nick: "I hate being the new kid."
Joe: "Hang with me, and you won't be new for long. Might ruin your reputation, but since you ain't got one yet, who cares!"
Nick: "Later, Ben. And thanks for calling."
Joe: "Is that one of those proper things your parents taught you to do?"
Nick: "Yeah, I guess."
Joe: "I really gotta work on you!"
Nick: "Remember I was the one who worked on you first! How's the nose?"
Joe: "Black and blue. I'm dyeing my hair the same color tonight to match my face! Later!"
Nick: "Peace, man."

Luis: "So, Nick, was that a friend from school?"
Nick: "Just a dude with green hair, Papa."
Luis: "Green hair?"
Nick: "Only for today. Tomorrow it's gonna be blue."
Luis: "I don't understand."
Nick: "I know, Papa, but that's cool. I'm gonna go do some homework and maybe get on the computer before I go to sleep. Need any more help with the boxes?"
Luis: "No, I finished while you were on the phone."
Nick: "Oh, sorry, Papa. I'll help you more tomorrow."
Luis: "Sure. Good night, son. Be sure to say good night to your mother, Nick. She worries about you."
Nick: "I know, Papa. I will."
