It's that time of the month for me...
TO PASS OUT SOME PB&J SANDWICHES!

1. BUY YOUR SUPPLIES: if you haven't already. Get enough bread, peanut butter and jelly to make at least 10 sandwiches. I'd recommend at least two loaves of bread and the large-size jars of both peanut butter & jelly. It shouldn't cost you more than about $10.
2. POST YOUR EXPERIENCES TO THE FACEBOOK GROUP: After you've passed out your sandwiches, take a couple moments to post what you did (street, town, state, # of sandwiches) to the group's wall. It'll be fun and inspiring to see your progress. For example:
Sandy Blvd., Portland, OR
19 Sandwiches
And feel free to add a note about how it went, reactions to the food, etc.
3. SANDWICH-MAKING PARTIES: The group is expanding and there are more parties this month than ever before. Today, August 1, there are sandwich-making parties in Berkeley and Los Angeles. On Monday, August 3, there's a sandwich-making party in San Francisco. On August 12, we're making sandwiches in St. Paul, MN and Grand Rapids, MI. And on August 18 in Phoenix, yes, a party! Check the group's "recent news" section for all the info. These parties are more about building community and getting inspired ... so it would be great if you could bring your own bread, peanut butter & jelly. (Otherwise, go solo, wherever you are. You don't need a party to make and distribute sandwiches.)
4. INVITE MORE PEOPLE AND HELP PUBLICIZE: We already have more than 1,500 members in the Peanut Butter Plan group, which is fantastic and translates -- if everybody passes out at least 10 sandwiches, hint hint -- into more than 15,000 meals this month. But there's no reason why we can't continue to grow this group. Looking ahead, I want to set the goal of 2,500 members by September 1. To get there, we'll need your continued help getting the word out there. Some easy things you can do:
a.) Post this group to your feed today and any other day you think of it.
b.) Write a note about the plan and tag a bunch of your friends.
c.) Invite a bunch of your friends to join the Peanut Butter Plan group by clicking the "invite people to join" link on the group's page and selecting some (or all) of your friends. (This is probably the most effective way of recruiting new members.)
THIS IS JUST THE THIRD OF MANY MORE PEANUT BUTTER PLAN DAYS: I can't thank you enough for joining up and for your continued efforts and I'm so excited to hear about how today goes. A big thank you, already, to the Point-People who are staging parties and organizing efforts, including Ryan Lewis (San Francisco), Matthew Russell (Grand Rapids), Christine Olson (St. Paul), Mia Johnston (Berkeley), Evey Rothstein (Los Angeles) and Hunter Riley (Phoenix). And once again: keep in mind that we're going to be doing this on the first of every month, so let me know if you'd like to plan a future party, or if you have any ideas to help spread the word and/or sandwiches.
Thank you again for everything! Now let's go feed some people.
All the very best,
Jory John
