Veterans Day marks memorial's unveiling

Cupertino resident Donna Axelson, whose son Matthew's death helped inspire the construction of the Cupertino Veterans Memorial, had tears in her eyes when she spoke at a Veterans Day dedication ceremony.
"This project has touched many people across the country," she said at the ceremony, held Nov. 11 at Cupertino Memorial Park.
