Background

Finnish Broadcasting Company and French television channel Arte had started to produce a documentary about the situation of seals and porpoises in Baltic Sea. The documentary was supposed to deal among other things with the effect of global warming to these animals.

When the commission editors saw the rough-cut of the film they were shocked and stated that not even a second of the material was usable. They stated that "use of shock images and shock music" is absolutely not allowed in nature documentaries that are meant for family audiences and according to them the audience is not interested to see the damage people are causing to environment.

Because of the reaction from commission editors any use of the edition was strictly prohibited, the production ran out of money and was never finished.

These 4 clips from the rough-cut are the only evidence left of this massive film production.

As much as I do pity the natural habitat of our world suffering to human intervention and cruelty, I don't believe this was due to climate change and global warming. Yes, blame the fishers and cullists, but this video just showed a baby seal being devoured by scavengers, whilst it resided on ice. Tell me, what was the cause of it's death? It was in it's natural habitat, and whilst it may be a shock to some seeing how nature works, can we stop this blatant scapegoating of "it's global warming".

nice footage of seals and such but global warming is natural. Things are going to change. Dinosaurs are now extinct and that happened naturally. Global warming is not the end of the world. If anything, the equator will become inhabitable but there is A LOT of unpopulated land in the northern and southern hemisphere so hopefully this gloom and doom will end and people can get on with life.

Hahahaha its so funny that you guys say what we do is normal :) But if you realise it, its ok...maybe its time for a lot of cities to sink, for a lot of huricanes to take place, for a great part of the earth population to not have access to drinkable water...

But dont get mad...we will soon find a new shiny shiny technology to alter again the environment and survive destroying the nature again and again...

I do admire the uneducated! Do you realise that our earth has been around for over 4.5 BILLION years?! This number we cannont even comprehend, we have been around for a mere 120'000 years of this! We are a blink of an eye for our earth! So yes, i do believe that the earths climate is driven naturally - as it has done for the past 4.5 billion years! The last 200 years are seen as an 'anomaly' - maybe in this time epoch but not in the history - where it has been seen many times before!
