Here is a quick video on how I made my own ink blending tools to use with my Inkssentials: Ink Blending Foam(made by Ranger) and Distress Inks. The money I saved by making my own blending tools is unreal!!!! Enjoy :-)

  • Great tutorial! So, you just asked the people at Rona to cut the wood for you? And they would do that many cuts for you? I didn't know you could do that? I wouldn't bind making up a few of these for the colours that I use the most!

  • @scrapeahappy Yes...I asked REALLY nicely hahahaha. They are so sweet at my Rona. I only ask if they are not super busy :-) TFW ~ Hugs Leanne

  • What kind of foam do you use? Thanks so much, great video!

  • @cass2sons I used the Inkssentials: Ink Blending Foam (by Ranger). The kind used with the Inkssentials ink blending tool. You can also make your own by using make-up foam. I bought some flat shaped make-up foam from the dollar store & cut them into rectangular shapes & glued either the soft Velcro piece or felt to it. It works just as great & costs much less! When using felt, I used glossy accent to glue it to the foam & it stuck on there really good! Thanks so much for watching! Hugs ~ Leanne

  • Funny thing, I made the exact tools :) last yr I was fed up with removing the sponge on my one aplicator and refused to spend $9 each on more tools, I decided to ask a carpenter friend to cut me blocks, my wood was free, but I did the same with the velcro and I took it one step further, I printed the labels out on my computer and glued them on the top of the block, then with my Micheals coupon I bought one of those cute magnetic closure boxes and placed all my blockes inside. Fun to save money!

  • @Lisa6812 Great minds think alike!!! LOVE saving moola!!! TFW ~ Hugs Leanne :-)

  • Very cool, indeed! I have a new project for my 93 yr old husband (woodworker)! Well, that is after he puts the finishing touches on my new art studio side arm desk on coasters! Girls eat your heart out! LOL! what a MAN!!!

  • I'm subscribing to your channel. Anyone who can DIY through most things is considered brilliant in my book! Way to go!!! (:

  • Great idea. TYFS. Best Wishes Lucinda

  • I'm glad to see you discovered the same tip I did years ago. I have a video about it also. Nice job! I found my wood blocks already made at a yard sale! There were 15 of them for a dollar! Love It! Take care! Debi

  • I normally use the sponges from stampin' up to do my blending, but it can get costly when they need to be replaced. This is such a GREAT idea! I'm going to give this a try, but I think I will start with the blocks I have from unmounting my stamps. Thanks again for this money-saving idea!!

  • Great idea!

  • This is so awesome thank you so much for sharing it. I have my blocks being cut this weekend and brought to me on Sunday.

  • Thanks for creating this video. I am new to cardmaking and scrapbooking and I can't keep up with all the neat tools out there - they add up quickly. I def can do this. TFS.

  • Instead of buying the wood, I am going to use all my stamp blocks I have been saving when I unmounted them! Wahoo!

  • Wow! Its pretty awsome and so simple! Thank You so much for the tutorial!

And any video I take with my Ipod come horribly!
