Turkish Prosecutor Committed 5 Offenses in AKP Closure Case

According to legal experts, the chief prosecutor, who filed the demand to close down the ruling Justice and Development Party... committed 5 offenses. Here is a brief look at those offenses commited by the indictment. ///

Abdurrahman Yalcinkaya called for the party to be banned and that 71 party members, among them Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, President Abdullah Gul and former speaker of the parliament Bulent Arinc, be barred from politics.

However Yalçinkaya stands accused of offenses regarding his indictment by law experts.

The offenses that the chief prosecutor is claimed to have committed are malfeasance and establishing forced evidence.

Yalcinkaya's move is the latest round in the battle between Turkiye's secularist forces and the AKP since the party came to power in 2002.

Law experts claim the chief prosecutor committed offenses that include attempting to bring the president to trial who they say cannot be tried except for the offense of high treason.

Those who had been acquitted were referred as if they were convicted in the indictment by the chief prosecutor.

The words of the murderer Alparslan Arslan, who attacked the members of the council of state and who had contacts with the Ergenekon gang, were used in the indictment.

Referring the laws issued by the Parliament, and the appointments of the execution to be offenses. They are all considered to be establishing forced evidence and malfeasance

In order for the chief prosecutor to be tried first there should be an application of impeachment to the Supreme Court then the board of the Supreme Court needs to issue a permit for the trial and 18 members out of 35 of the board of the chiefs should ok to the prosecution of the chief prosecutor.
