  • you need to do like 2 times slow and 2 times fast to show how you do it. in a real boxing match you dont do it in slow motion. and that one where you block with ur hand is shit cuz think of the force hiting your hand which was right next to ur face. it will basically be like hitting ur self in the face. What you wanna do as they go to punch you.. : Duck, jab to rib and come back round with right hand to chin and there knocked out. if i could show you i would.

  • @LeeNewellUK Thanks, I will update you i created a video that's 2x slow and 2 times fast..

  • @vangkevinvang It's a drill, you should practice it first then you try it out in sparring session.. We can. =) @bigboysboxing & @7x34hj thanks

  • Defense in boxing is very important, more than offense. Learn the basic of defense then you can start learning different kinds/type of defense. It's an art also. =)

  • Thanks. Check my site boxing-4-fitness dat com and go to my rope drill page. also start by returning your hands to your chin after any combinations.

  • why dont u guy .. like actually try to hit each other 4 real.. >.<

  • No offense but that is the worst thing you want to do to block against a jab! It takes your left hand out of position which leaves you open for a right cross! You catch a jab with your right hand so you can counter with your jab. That means jab counter jab! right counter Right! So put your left arm up with palm on forehead and that will block a straight right allowing you to counter with a right cross. If you do this they way I just told you, you will see that it sets up the other punch!

  • I don't wish to sound discouraging, because the video is really good (to the point and all in one video), so my points are with good intentions:

    1) Not sure about slipping inside for a jab, but I suppose sometimes there is no choice.

    2) The right cross is aimed above the opponent's shoulder. This is one of the hardest defences to learn, so it is vital that the puncher goes for the target.

    3) Many of the punches are telegraphed; the uppercuts especially, they swing backwards too much. rgds

  • youre parrying with the wrong hand cheeseball..you parry a jab with your right...you can draw down with the left

  • Yes sir defense wins matches. Haha my trainer always tells me that. But it seems true. I mean my record is 7-2. Enough bragging, I can't stress enough how defense is key to being a great fighter. I see many guys just thawing hooks and crosses but never learning to roll in or out, or even block a basic jab lol. I guess they'll learn haha

  • in my very first boxing match i didnt do any sort of defense i know i can stand and bang with a guy but he open palm slapped me with his gloves a left then right into both temples and almost knocked me out. that made me realize how important defense is. i train defense all the time now. and you can control the fight with a good defense.
