YOU'VE COME HOME : Music and Lyrics: Steven Jackson

You often hear they say that no one is an Island
Cannot live this life as if you're on your own
You know your life is better when it's shared with others
Doesn't make sense to live this life alone
You know that life sometimes doesn't have a meaning
You know it's hard to make any sense of it at all
And when you open up those eyes and you slowly realize you've come home.

And if you're looking for someone who will fulfill you
Someone who'll make all your dreams come true
Then all of the pieces of the puzzle come together
You're standing back and you're admiring the view
Sometimes it takes awhile for life to have some meaning
It takes awhile for the Sun to chase those clouds away
And when you open up those eyes and you slowly realize you're not afraid.

Here I am waiting for the Sun to rise
Here I am waiting with these arms out wide
Here I am you'll never be alone
Here I am come in from the cold you've come home.

You know this life will never last forever
Our days are numbered from the day that we are born
So why not take the time to look at what's around you
And bless the beauty of the sunset and the dawn
You know that life sometimes doesn't have a meaning
Sometimes it's hard to make any sense of it at all
And when you're closing up those eyes then you slowly realize you've come home.

This is a song about 'Home' and what it means to you.
Home can be a place, it can be a person, it can be a state of mind, it can be love, it can be beauty, it can be something in your mind, a beautiful memory.
For me it is all these things.
The pictures are mostly taken by my Dad Raymond Jackson, pictures of my family growing up.
Life is like a ladder you step onto the ladder and ascend it one rung at a time.
When you die you reach the top rung and step off the ladder, but in so doing you are leaving spaces for others to step onto the ladder.
My friend Tim Aylesworth plays the electric guitars and bass on this track.
Thank you Tim.
