Experience the thrill of running Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner trains along the coast at 90 MPH! The perfect tool to help you get qualified on the Surfliner's "South End". This Double-disc DVD set includes every inch of territory between LA and San Diego, along with useful location information, signal indications, and speed limits. Realtime milepost data is available in the DVD's special features.

Recorded digitally with Sony Hi-Def cameras using stereo microphones located at various positions within the locomotive, this DVD set is the most realistic way to experience modern, hi-speed passenger train operations in a busy passenger corridor along some of the most beautiful scenery in the country.

In addition to the head-end video, this set includes a complete tour of the Surfliner locomotive and passenger cars, along with some exciting run-by action and outtake footage.

  • How did you get a cab ride? Is that available to the public?

The crossing at 1:40 was Calafia Beach, I go there a lot. :-) Great video. 5/5!

  • Yes it's available at Train Video Depot. Do a search and you'll find it easily.

We sell train related videos from about 30 different producers. I don't know how they got access on this one. But it is one of our best selling cab ride DVD's.

  • Yes this was shot from the cab of an F59PHI

  • Actually, I meant the number, sorry.

  • Oh. Not sure, but there is a tour of the entire locomotive, and that is of #462.
