This is the beginning of a study Maggie M of Iron Heart Circus is doing which will examine how animal movement can be played out through human dance. The photographs here are strung together stills from Edweard Muybridge, music is Mercy by Jonathan Elias performed by Alanis Morissette & Salif Kieta off the album The Prayer Cycle.

The cat is especially interesting because he caught a transition of gait - trot to gallop. Really cool. I used these pix a lot when in college and taking art classes. Muybridge did some real landmark work in understanding animal gaits.
