@GnarlyCranium Nick Woolsey is the best :) He breaks down moves a ton of different ways so there's bound to be a way you understand it. I couldn't get the triquetra pattern until I watched him do it, crazy good!

I've been trying to learn too, there are some spiffy websites that have online video lessons of the basics. Probably the best spinner and instructor I've ever seen is Nick Woolsey, he has a very excellent DVD... ARGH I can't post an actual link, so-- his website is playpoi dot com, if you go there he's got a page with a list of links to very excellent resources.
Also don't go anywhere near fire till you've been practicing for a long time and have somebody experienced to help you.
