The Agenda-Loyalty Oath-10-29-2010-(Part1)

For the first time since the creation of Israel 62 years ago, new citizens will be obliged to pledge loyalty to Israel as a "Jewish and democratic state." The bill which was supported by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came despite a split within his own ruling Likud party after some predicted the new legislation was a terrible mistake which would incite the Arab minority. The loyalty pledge was the brainchild of Avigdor Lieberman, the hard-right foreign minister whose party had proposed the similar loyalty oath for all Arab citizens as part of its last election campaign.

The loyalty oath and the insistence that the Palestinian Authority recognize Israel as a Jewish state are said by some to be both racist and discriminatory. Other countries in the world including Britain ask potential citizens to take a test and in the USA when immigrants want to become Americans they must take a civic test as part of their naturalization interview.

You brought the Bible into this, I was simply correcting your use of it. The idea of Zionism is the re-founding of Israel as it was initially created in biblical times. It is, therefore, impossible to have been a Zionist prior to the Exile of the Jews.

I don't think we're debating anything here anyhow. I'm a non-believer, for the record. ;)

The actuality of Zionism didn't even become a reality until AFTER the Exile. So that statement is blatant falsity. In any case, the majority of Israel is either a) non-practicing or b) atheist.

In short, they don't give to licks what the Bible says. They call themselves Jewish because they view it as a distinct culture of their own; but they will most openly admit to you that they harbor no belief for any God whatsoever.
