Fire chief at the Clearwater Acacia Roundabout designed by Michael Wallwork, PE, according to the Australian roundabout design philosophy. The Acacia Roundabout was requested by the Beach Association, which represents residents and businesses on Clearwater Beach. The Beach Association accompanied their request with a check for $3,000 to demonstrate their seriousness and encourage the City to construct the project. On opening day, residents showed up in force with tables, chairs, coolers and a barbeque grill and threw a street party to celebrate their new roundabout.

  • @WhereMyChicken Traffic circles and roundabouts are nearly the same thing. The term roundabout is used for when you yield to oncoming traffic and in a traffic circle, you stop for oncoming traffic. In this situation, it appears that they are yielding to oncoming traffic so it would be considered a roundabout.

  • This is a traffic calming traffic circle. NOT a roundabout. BIG difference.
