  • the problem is people are NOT getting in tune with the breed. not doing their home-work before they get the breed.

then realize the breed is too much dog for them.

most people don't even train their terrier dog! they are not dogs you can just take home and let them do what ever they want. you have to be trained to a T and socialized well.

same thing happen to the dalmatian, the movie made people want to buy the breed but not knowing the breed is far too hyper for just any owner.

  • Blame the owners not the breed. Ignorance is contagious.

  • @blitzvomitew16,

This is a good start, but San Bernardino needs to do MORE! Just in the last two years, while walking my dog, we have been attacked by pit bulls off leash four times. In May, a pit bull belonging to a neighbor crashed through my wrought iron gate and attacked my dog, which later died from the injuries. I'm still waiting for restitutions from this neighbor. These events have really wakened my eyes to the real dangers these dogs pose in our city.

  • Funny how some people are trying to throw other breeds under the bus. Poodles? A quick check of the North American dog attack records from 1982-2011 shows 0 deaths by poodles. Over 200 deaths by pit bulls though, far more than any other breed. In fact, more than all other breeds combined.

The Pit bull is unique among dogs in that it was created specifically to kill. And yet people seem surprised that they kill.

  • they are trying to get them out here in melbourne right now any bornafter 2010 are apparently goin to be put down its screwed up cause its the owners not the dog , educate dont discriminate !!!!!!!

  • pit bull type dogs are not APBT's, the dogs that are attacking are mastiffs type dogs and mutts. True APBTs usally don't get over 60lbs and do not have huge heads.

I watch the news and every time there is a dog attack, they call it a pit bull. One of the dogs was a chow.

BSL will destroy all breeds, people need to wake up before all dogs become illegal!

  • We have had several pitbulls and many were rescues that were in the fight pens. NEVER have we ever been bit by a pitbull because we have knowledge of the breed. We have been bit by other peoples scotties, shepherds, heelers and chihuahua. It is people ignorance and explotation that is bringing down this awesome breed. People need to start taking responsibility for this.

  • Actually I have. My uncle owned a couple of Poodles that he neglected to socialize and they were extremely vicious. I finally convinced him to seek help and they are fine now but it did take almost a year. Its not the breed its the owner. You can take the pit out and put any dog in the same situation and it will be the same result. The media just likes to expose Pits cuz it makes a better story than some Poodle attacking.

  • This is an owner problem.

  • This pic makes me cry. No dog should be kept in such a small cage. Alone :(

  • @porn1978 you're a dumbass

  • @porn1978 lmfao, wtf. Nobody competes with their dog xD If you did your research, you would know that they are compassionate and loving creatures. They love their owners and they are just like any other dog you might see. Take this for example: My grandmother has 2 greyhounds. One of them lays by us and is very gently and wouldn't bite anyone. The other is the exact opposite. See? It's not the breed, It's how they were raised. (Note: the aggressive greyhound was rescued).
