@TomthatiscalledTom Philip Pope (Tony Angelino from Only Fools and Horses) wrote the Music and Steve Brown (Glenn Ponder from Knowing me knowing you with Alan Partridge) did the Lyrics.

God this was prophetic regarding Robert Maxwell! The Spitting Image team were fantastic writers that wouldn't get aired today. British culture lost something when we became ashamed of our forefathers mistakes - and we shouldn't be.

@Exospray The reason for him appearing in the hospital ward was because in reality, he studied medicine and was a qualified physician before going into politics, and of course was known as Dr. Owen. As for appearing in the rest of the sketches he must've been a Spitting Image favourite!

what is it with David owen appearching in the background of sketches?

The lyrics are so funny and bang on the money with regards to the pomposity and self-aggrandisement of 'slebs, lying behind all the 'campassion.'
It's all for charity, all for charity, we're just so bloody nice
Myself I ask for nay reward, a knighthood will suffice
I'm a foul mouthed bastard, but I love helping kids
As long as they're not Pakis or Japs or Wogs or Micks or Fergies
-
John Major's dancing at the end!
