I agree with TNLand279InclineWay; The fall is the best time for the NC/Tenn mountains. Google leaf report or Fall color watch in the end of September. They will afford you a decent idea of when peak color is. But be aware, everyone else will show up then as well.

@extremlywell It would have to be the fall. All the leaves are changing, you see a lot of wildlife activity, and the weather is never better than in the fall.
