I've been a fan of Steve Walker's art for some time, now. The beauty is overwhelming. The other night I stumbled upon a song on Rhapsody... "It Amazes Me", by Blossom Dearie. It took only a moment for me to realize that the two belonged together. This is the result.

  • These drawings and Blossom Dearie, whom I remember from the clubs in New York years ago, remind me of the times that should have been, could have been, and never was in my life. I am 82 now, and look at those drawings with some regret.

  • @Q32Radar: In love and relationships, as with everything else in life, there is little to gain from regret. I've learned that lesson many times. The point is to look forward, not in the past. I hope you find a new source of wonderful memories. Much love and best wishes go out to you!

  • With all the talk back and forth on Gay marriage in California, I found this video to be effective at humanizing the argument-its about the veryday things we straights take for granted. However, I am curious how the two lovers depicted in the illustrations have time for anything but working out.

  • @wmg1958: LMAO @ your comment about finding time for working out. I suppose it all comes down to establishing priorities... difficult to do, but usually worth the effort. I know it all worked out for me when I decided to work my way down from 240 lbs. to my present 175.

Thanks, too, for your observation regarding "humanizing" same-sex couples. I think if there were more of that, the fear that so many opponents harbor would evaporate overnight.

  • i don't know about the gay deal of this vid, but it's an awsome song. and mundell lowe's guitar work amazes me. he's great on the bittersweet album by carmen macrae.

  • You're entitled to your opinion about the video. Thanks for mentioning the guitarist. Didn't know who he was, but he IS very talented. I'll check out the Macrae album. Has he done any solo work that you know of?

  • The collection is so touching .

    Thanks for sharing :)

  • My mother worked at a certain NYC supper club in the 70s. I must have listened to Blossom a hundred times in the backroom. And now they're both gone.

    Now I'm sad...

  • Several years have passed since I first found your video - not a month goes by that I don't revisit it. You should be very proud of what you've made here :)

  • Beautiful combination of images and music . Thanks For Posting This - XOX- Bruce
