Eadward Muybridge: The Man Who Made Pictures Move.

This mini-documentary was created for a school project through Lansing Community College, Lansing, MI (ARTS 242) in 2005, with the purpose of learning Adobe After Effects Software. As a bonus, the class learned a lot about the incredible, pioneering efforts of Eadward Muybridge who will always remain an inspiration to those who benefit from his personal perseverance and dedication to his craft.

Disclaimer: Please remember this was a school project and forgive any rough spots as the software was just being introduced. Creative license was taken with additional photos and story-telling elements (i.e. sound effects that may not be true to the reference). As this project was made for short term, educational purposes, gathered content and resources were not given proper citation (where they should have).

  • thanks buddy. this helped me a lot for a uni essay.

  • @JustttJay thank you for your interest. I hope you were able to learn more about Muybridge from this humble project. If, however, you are using information from this video for your uni (University?) essay please be sure to cite the source. That is one of my regrets about this production and is mentioned in my disclaimer. I utilized several outside sources and did not record information on where to find them again or to give them proper credit as it was not necessary for the school assignment.

  • Thanks PlayIt4MeAgainSam!

  • Thank you for this very concise yet informative bio of Muybridge.

  • @TroyOi

TroyOi, thank you for your comments. Our class instructor compiled the narrative and we were to build a picture story around it complete with sound effects and music. One of the requirements was key-framing the stop motion photographs in sequence to illustrate the marvel of the animation. I learned a lot about Muybridge and am amazed at the depth of his studies.

  • Oh Wow! Thanks PsychLove17! Good catch!! Too bad I didn't have your editing skills when I made this for class!
