The great director Werner Herzog reads the book "Go the F*ck to Sleep", written by Adam Mansbach and illustrated by Ricardo Cortes (published by Akashic Books) at the book launch for the title at the New York Public Library, June 14, 2011. Apparently he was hesitant at first to do the pre-recorded reading, but afterwards said "I liked the job". Samuel L. Jackson will be doing the audio book. Very proud of you Ricardo!!

  • I happen to prefer Samuel L's delivery...but one this isn't open to debate: The sound quality on the Herzog version is sub-standard.

  • @davedworkin yeah. apologies for the video quality. just an iphone 3G recording. live, it was crisp and hauntingly funny!

  • Alright, I've just seen/heard the Jackson one after watching this one first, and I DEF like this one more. Not as crisp sounding, nor the video, but their tones come out a LOT more believable and funny. Thanks for sharing. =) I don't think I've laughed this much in years. Seriously!

  • @breakingthisdown apologies for the quality. just a quick iphone 3G vid. In person the sound was totally professional and quite amazing!

  • I liked this. The last verse needed somemore umph, but otherwise this was good

  • Werner narrating this book. It was meant to be.

  • This is all worth it because now I have heard Werner Herzog say "snuggly".

  • O_O

  • i like Samuel L Jackson's version better. HIs was more "sarcastic". Werner's would give a child nightmares.

  • Has James Lipton done a reading of this, because he would be perfect.
