@EbonyBunny1 Hendrix actually did both.

bullshit, dale doesen't get those sounds from playing a righty, lefty. He get gets those sounds cause he wants to. I'm cool with everything else.
-
@EbonyBunny1 that is so fuckin confusing

@usernam4444 Hendrix played a right handed guitar, but restrung the guitar and played it as a lefty, so in a sense he turned it into a left handed guitar. Dick Dale left the right handed guitar as a right handed guitar and just played it upside down with his left hand. When he was given a left handed guitar, he couldn't play it, so he restrung a left handed guitar turned it into a right handed guitar and played it upside down with his left hand.

Dick Dale is the man!

I always wondered how he played the second run-through on Miserlou on the high E string. Makes sense. On regular string line-up its hard not to pull that high E when it's so skinny and at the bottom of the neck. Having at as the first string...did he play everything that way? Wow.

Albert King is another guitarist who played with his strings in "reverse" order - I believe he was one of the first, actually.
Doyle Bramhall II is a more recent and current blues guitarist who also prefers the "reverse" string order. Gives him a very sharp and funky sound. I've tried it myself, but found some of the chords I like become too impractical to reach.
Also you don't NEED to buy a left-handed guitar and flip the whole thing around. Instead just buy a custom neck and adjust the bridge

@IndianKBlue Hmm, I wonder if the people who did this had longer fingers than most.
