  • Peoplelieabouttaxes ... lmao... you must be employed by either Congress or the IRS. No matter. You don't have a clue as to what you are speaking about. Since you speak with such authority, just what would you propose? Status Quo? Do you have an answer? Doubtful.

  • I wasn't proposing a solution, but I just thought, hey, this is America, I have a right to my opinion. And this American's opinion is the FairTax is a load of crap that gives the rich an incredible windfall at the expense of the real hard working Americans. Keep the Capital Gains, Interest and Dividend taxes and that "fair" 23% tax will be lower. That's simple math.

And don't get me started on the estate tax.

  • Who is this Clown? Who isn't the FairTax good for? It's good for us ALL !!! What's the problem????

  • @vinnyverellivents

This is one of the dubmest arguments I hear you people make.

To follow your theory this is what you are trying to say:

Individuals who would then be taking home more money, will now buy less stuff?

    Seriously?

Now if your assumption is that a $100 toaster today, is going to cost $100 + Fair Tax, then unfortuantely you're not even starting with the correct premise to even begin debating it.

The cost of the products we buy stay the same.

PLEASE do your homework next time.

  • This is moronic!!!!

    Here's what I heard:

Dude who doesn't know what he's talking about, and an audience that'll clap at anything that insults rich people or conservative Americans.

    Here's what I saw:

Cheap slides that try to illustrate the tax structure with "DIC" jokes. WOW

    There's a stretech.

This guy has no idea about the in's and out's of the FairTax, but is evidently smart enough to stand up.

  • All I hear from people like you against the fair tax is how the evil rich people get off easy! What I love about the fair tax is the fact that everyone has to pay into the system as opposed to our current system of 50% getting off scott free from paying income taxes! The poor need to chip in too! No free rides for anyone!

  • @vinnyverellivents (cont) on cap gains, divs, and interest. It does nothing to address the other issues, taxed unfairly on our labor, being hassled by the irs, having to confess our financial matters every year under impossible regulations, conforming to gov't approved habits to keep taxable income, illegal gains not having to pay. People have to spend money to use it, not everybody has to earn it as income to gain it.

  • @vinnyverellivents Some people will, but once the embedded tax is removed, prices go back to what they are now, and we're buying with our full paychecks, so I doubt people will change their buying habits that much. Besides, money is nothing until it's traded for something needed or enjoyed, the current *income* tax system does nothing to prevent people who have money from just letting it accumulate to more, then spend and enjoy it practically tax free. You're applying a band-aid by raising tax

  • @mikejadoti You start taxing everything consumers buy and they will adjust there buying habits. If people slow down their consuming, businesses lose money and start laying off employees. People spend less there's less revenue for the Government. The government now has to raise the sales tax as it's the only tax there is. Why not tax Capital Gains, dividends and interest ? It would lower the sales tax which would stimulate more spending. Did you make that much on your capital gains last year?

  • @vinnyverellivents FlatTax still has exemptions, the rich will still make out. FlatTax still has no way to capture the illegal income from the criminals and under the counter income... FlatTax still requires us to send a confession every year to the gov't. Fairtax captures all this because the one thing we all have in common is we have to spend it to get any use out of it, we don't have to confess, and there are no exemptions. I get it though, your a comedian talking about tax matters.

  • So? Cheney can make as much money as he wants. Same as everyone else.

If you want to create a job - great.

If you don't....so...its your money and you're entitled to do with it what you wish.

Let people keep more of it, more money in the economy doing good things rather than in the governments piggy bank being wasted.

FYI we already ahve a flat tax.

Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.
