Found this buried in the garage, it is the motor to our former weed whacker. We ran it for years, but eventually the main bearing on the shaft seized. We threw away the shaft, got a new weed whacker, and put this motor away. I found it this weekend. :)

After being stored with little fuel for a few years, I put some 40:1 chainsaw gas in it instead of the 50:1 it wants, so she's smoking a bit more then usual.

I mention pump in the video because we're looking to build a gas powered backup for our electric sump pump.

  • What a piece of JUNK!! Their chainsaw stink as well!!

  • Yeah, it was the cheapest thing available at the time. The main shaft bearing overheated and failed...which doomed the machine. It has no clutch. We replaced it with a Ryobi that has the "Expand it" system so if we lost another bearing, it could easily be replaced.

  • The engine is a little bit rich, isn't it?

  • It's more with the lack of running and wrong fuel/oil mixture. Our chainsaws require more oil in the gas then the weed whackers do, so they tend to smoke more.

  • @MrMotorKid sell it to me i need spares for mine. !!

  • make a bike!

  • poor little guy

  • Mine didn't go. :( It had carb problems but I'm gonna throw it out now anyway since I lost most of the screws holding the front on. So the engine is just held on by one screw.

  • watch davidsfarm's video on how to adjust 2 stroke carbs. he always says "guaranteed 100% youll be able to make it go"

  • lol my weedwacker is twice the size of that

  • I love these things! theyre so quiet for two strokes at idle anyways, the one ive got runs great now with a new carb, plus the one i have has a clutch

  • Ok thanks i might look into that :)

  • if it has the same problem its probably to lean

  • I have the same weedwhacker as that, im having the same probs as you, but mine isnt happy with any mixture, might fire but wont run on its own =( any suggestions on what to do?
