Mamadou Diabate plays: Biworo Fani

This solo was originally composed for three balafon players. Here I combine the most relevant motivs of the original parts. The chief problem hier was retaining the full emotional impact of the model and, especially after 1:50, achieving sufficient clarity in shaping the competing counter-melodies.

If you play the piano, try to play this (or a three-part invention of J.S.Bach) using only your two forefingers, to get an idea about the difficulties of this one-man-version...
