Tagata Shrine Honen Festival 田県神社 豊年祭

Giant penis festival in Komaki, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The Honen-sai or Honen (Hounen) Matsuri is held by Tagata Jinja on March 15 to pray for an abundant harvest. There is a Shinto ceremony, time to take pictures with the phallus, and a 90-min. procession from Kumano Shrine to Tagata Shrine. The phallus is only an offering, not an object of worship.
