You are absolutely correct. It was Shirley Walker who conducted the Batman soundtrack score, which was spectacular.

Actually, a female conductor (whose name I cannot remember) did this as this was the only track that Danny Elfman did not conduct, and yes, Prince (along with his father) wrote this, too. I know this because it's my favorite track on the entire album and played this one endlessly.

@Secundas Prince wrote the song "Scandalous" with his father John L.Nelson for his version of the soundtrack in 1989.. Elfman used it to compose the Love Theme. Prince released an extended version of the tune with his then-girlfriend Kim Basinger (Vicki Vale) on a 12"/CD single. Hope this helps.
