From out the blinding mist they came Zulu dawn

Our brave young lads & lassies marching through Dunfermline after their 7 month tour of Helmand Province in Afghanistan.
This clip was taken at the quiet start of the mile long parade ending at Pittencreiff park, but their were over 1000 locals showing their appreciation all along the High street.

  • Why do you need police to guard them? They are combat vets and they have guns for the love of god.

  • @Englishbobwv police attend any march or public event basicly they are there to keep public order and only police or traffic wardens can control traffic in scotland

  • Sad, so sad. After the Highland Clearances we are still giving our children to the warmongers. Since 1979 Dunfermline had been turned into a ghost town while these men have been turning Iraq and Afghanistan into ghost towns on behalf of the oil companies and arms manufacturers. We surely must find a better way to use our resources than making enemies and destroying the world!

  • That was freeking AWESOME!! Never see anythinng like that in america... land of the "free..."

  • @Englishbobwv The police keep the crowds back, the soldiers have just come back off tour to take part in the parade, so they wouldn't want to be pushing rowdy civvies around to let their pals march past, they'd rather be in the Platoons being recognised for what they've done.

  • @Englishbobwv yes i agree with you bloody annoying looking at them.

  • Welcome home boy's!!

  • You are making us proud guys!

  • It depends. Like this event it's okay for them to carry it but if it wasn't an event like this one the solider could be arrested. A solider just got arrested two weeks ago for having a firearm in a public place without a good reason. I'm sure he was sent to prison for a few months
