Doe and Fawn

Every year for the over seventeen years that I have lived at the house I'm in now, the does have brought their fawns to graze and play in the Greenbelt area just behind my back fence. The fawns, as they grow up, come back to visit and sleep. I'm always so scared for the male grown up fawns because their antlers are an obsessive attraction for idiots with guns who ignore the city law that prohibits the discharge of firearms within the city limits. The Greenbelt area behind my back fence is now drastically smaller and neighboring adults and children actively kill remaining wildlife. They shoot so closely to the row of homes bordering the Greenbelt that I can see them, hear them and even have smelled the gunpowder from my backyard. Unlike other areas, this deer population is still under natural control with natural (not human) predators. The human predators have substantially decreased the small herd that used to call this area their home.
