Thats so wrong mine needs a fence
-
No fence is required, because they are very calm. They go wherever you go. If you fence this dog, dog can feel itself quite oppressed.
-
how tall the fence is required for this kind of dog ?
thnx

@randominitializer a kangal is actually a antolian anatolian shepherd come from anatolia before it was a part of turkey and way before the turks came up with another name for it
-
@randominitializer Oh okay...I was just over reacting. :) Sorry burakigin....
-
@TankHarley123 buraktigin is right. You probably did not understand him/her right. What there is only one dog breed and it's the Kangal. Anatolian Sheppard could be another name for this breed just like Alsatian and German Sheppard mean the same. Anatolian Sheppard or any other name is a result of non-native people from America and Europe taking them outside the dog's original place. It's a result ignorance.
-
@buraktigin YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WRONG. I have a anatolian shepherd! His dad was straight from Turkey! Anatolian Shepherd ARE REAL. There are like 500 organizations for thee wonderful dogs. You are just jelous cuz u dun have one!

NO SUCH a thing as an ANatolian shepherd, im sorry. Im from turkeyand know the KANGAL breed very well, the anatolian shepherd was started by uneducated people who brought back two bad samples of kangals. Even within Turkey its hard to obtain pure kangals, and there is now a huge national and government effort to keep the kangal dog blood lines. Unfortunatly people who do not know much about his breed are unwittingly harming the KANGAL blood lines.

You can buy Anatolian Shepherd from Turkey/Sivas =)
Very interested in this breed. Are they good family and guard dogs? How much excersize and space do they need?

Anatolians make excellent family and guardian dogs. Daily exercise is necessary, could be a well fenced in yard or fenced in dog park if you are a city dweller. Notice I say fenced. They tend to lay around most of the time. Not real high energy except when needed. In the house they are my Turkish Rugs.
